Taken from the title page of a 19th century book on the Parc aux Cerfs showing the exaggerated balloon hats which were so popular at the time, worn with almost military style jackets.

Worked in Double Knitting (8 ply) yarn.

The Birthday Gifts

the Heirloom Doll which
measures 38 cm (15 ins)
high and is made of
porcelain and cloth.
There is a metal armature
inside her arms which
allows her to be moved
into different poses.
Her hair responds very
well to styling and can
be worked into small or
large curls, trimmed and
arranged in a lifted
style using plastic
headed pins to hold
it in place.

with wooden based
stand, shoes, socks and
pantaloons
